Tourism

I am now on Phase Three of my Russia trip: tourism. Leaving Tomsk was difficult, and judging by 2010 the realization of exactly how difficult will hit me in the coming week. Until then, I'll be distracting myself with such things as Red Square, Lenin's corpse, the Hermitage, Peterhof, gingerbreads, chai?coffee?, and Russian traditions.

We flew from Tomsk to Moscow yesterday and spent a bit of time in the city before catching a train to Petersburg, where we are spending a few days. Where Moscow feels very Soviet, Petersburg feels very Imperial - going from one city to the other is sort of like using magic crystals and traveling in a time machine. Y'all, Russia rules.
