This weekend my cool parents came to be entertained in the ATL. I wanted to go to college in a big city because there would be so much to do. Any time I'm asked how I like living in Atlanta I say "there's so much to do!" But what do I actually do here? For the past three and a half years I feel like I've just done homework, and now that I have a light semester I feel like I just kind of sit in my room and eat apples. I appreciate people coming to visit because it reminds me to actually do things and make sure to enjoy my current city. Some things we did this weekend included coffee breaks, walking around Piedmont, watching puppies in the dog park, a yoga+coffee roommate+mom outing, a little bit of shopping, movie watching, attending church all together, and of course lots of eating.
A lot of our time was spent conducting the business of looking at apartments for next year. I will continue living in Atlanta but I refuse to continue living on campus. Let's just say I'm looking forward to the only messes I'm cleaning up being my messes, the only dishes I'm washing being my dishes, and more than 3 feet of counter space and 0 ft of pantry space. I am not cut out for community living.
I feel as unprepared for grad school as for anything else I've ever done, but things seem to work out and at the very least I know I'll have a larger kitchen this time.
